💃 Strip Club Etiquette for Polers

by Ally Cat

AKA how not to be “that guy” at the club

So, you’re a proud poler who respects the roots, loves the sexy side of pole, and is finally heading to a strip club to pay homage. We love that for you. But before you roll in with your glitter and good intentions, here’s how to make sure your night out is fun for everyone—especially the dancers who actually work there.

🛑 You’re not the main character

We get it—you’ve got moves. But in the club, the dancers are the stars. That means no freestyling at your table, no spontaneous sexy floorwork, and definitely no “accidental” splits. Sit back, enjoy the show, and leave the performing to the pros.

💸 Clap with cash

Applause is nice, but rent is nicer. Strippers rely on tips, so if you’re enjoying the show, show it with your dollars. Make it rain, drizzle, sprinkle—just make sure you’re giving. If your budget’s tight, that’s okay, but don’t hog the front row or the dancers’ time without tipping.

📵 Don’t be the phone goblin

No filming. No sneaky snaps. No stories. It’s not just rude—it can put dancers at real risk. It’s also poor etiquette around other patrons. Treat the club like a strip sanctuary: what happens there, stays there (unless you're tipping well, then we hope the dancer remembers you fondly forever).

🗣 Watch your mouth, babes!

We know how it goes—three tequilas in and suddenly you’re the life of the party. But in the club, a loud voice (especially a loud ladies' voice) can pull focus from the dancers—and that can make it harder for them to do their job and earn.

Chatting with the dancers? Totally fine! Just keep it respectful and vibe-appropriate. Compliments like “you’re incredible,” “your control is unreal,” or “please take all my money” = yes please. Shouting “OMG I do pole too!!” = cute in class, not in the club.

Keep the energy supportive, not spotlight-stealing. 💋

Go in humble, tip like a legend, and don’t try to out-sexy the people who are literally paid to be sexy. Do that, and you’re golden. 💖
