Our Mission

What Is Sextember?

Sextember is all about bridging the gap between the pole world and the sex industry.

Through real talk, myth-busting, education, community-building and celebration of the sex workers who built this art form, we’re creating space for honest conversations, mutual respect, and a whole lot of learning.

We’re here to help polers understand how to honour stripper roots while still doing all the things they love about pole.

We also want to help polers get better at spotting their own biases—and maybe even help their friends and families unlearn some of the outdated stigma around sex work. Because knowledge builds empathy, and empathy leads to real change.

Our Vision

We see a future where pole dancers and sex workers stand side by side—with mutual respect, shared history, and real understanding.

In this future, every pole dancer knows where pole came from and honours the sex workers who built it—and every sex worker feels that respect and support from the pole community.

Pole dancers are perfectly placed to be powerful allies: breaking down stigma, challenging bias, and helping the wider world see sex work with more respect and less judgement.

This movement is about celebrating our roots, standing up for our people, and building a pole culture that’s inclusive, empowered, and even more fabulous.

We're here to connect polers and sex workers through education, respect, and real talk. Honoring our roots, building bridges, breaking down stigma and creating a pole culture that’s inclusive, empowered, and proudly connected to where it all began.

Sextember
